Jessica Simpson, born on July 10, 1980 in Abilene, Texas, is and American singer-songwriter and actress. She expressed interest in an entertainment career as a child along her younger sister Ashlee, and auditioned for Disney’s show “The Mickey Mouse Club”, but was declined. Initially she wanted to pursue singing gospel, but was switched over to a more conventional music, after Columbia Records executive heard one of Simpson’s songs and got her signed.
Preceding the release of her first album “Sweet Kisses” and following the release of her first single “I Wanna Love You Forever”, she was touring alongside Ricky Martin and boy band 98 Degrees, when she met her future husband Nick Lachey. The album was a commercial success, going double platinum and yielding such hit singles as “Where You Are” and “I Think I’m In Love With You”. At the time she was overshadowed by such young stars as Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears. Jessica followed up by releasing her second album “Irresistible”, which debuted in the top 10 on the Billboard 200 Chart.
